Essence Atkins, best known for starring roles in sitcoms Half & Half and the Ice Cube produced Are We There Yet?, is expecting her first child!
Ms. Atkins met her husband, Jaime Mendez, on the popular dating site, Match.com, after sending him a message on Valentine’s Day in 2008. According to the actress, they went on their first date a week later.
“I wrote him a quick little note that I had read his profile, and then I signed off, Happy SAD Day – that’s Single Awareness Day,” said Essence to People Magazine.
