GeorgiaTech Student Beaten & Robbed At Gunpoint
A Georgia Tech student was attacked and robbed in Home Park before sunrise Monday as he walked home from campus.
Atlanta police said the victim was a few blocks from his home on Tumlin Street in northwest Atlanta, near the Landon Learning Center, when two men in an older-model, gold Toyota Corolla got out of their vehicle and approached him. One of the men was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.
Police said the men ordered the student to his knees and took his cell phone and wallet. The victim’s father said the wallet contained several hundred dollars. The men then kicked the student in the head.
The victim managed to walk home where he called police and his parents.
