We just got word that the NBA commissioner David Stern suspends Washington Wizards Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton for the season.
Both were previously charged with felonies of weapons possessions after their “gun fight” in the locker room. No word on where either of their multi million dollar contracts stand…but it’s not looking good.
According to the AP:
Saying possession of guns in the workplace “will not be tolerated,” Stern delivered the punishment Wednesday after meeting with Arenas earlier in the day, turning his indefinite suspension into a suspension without pay.
Crittenton met with Stern on Tuesday and also was suspended without pay.
Arenas pleaded guilty Jan. 15 to a felony gun charge after an alleged confrontation with Crittenton in the Wizards’ locker room at Verizon Center in Washington.
Arenas is scheduled to be sentenced March 26. He’s in the second season of a six-year, $111 million contract.
Story developing….
