The National Civil Rights Museum will honor R&B singer, Usher Raymond, on November 12 in Memphis Tennessee.
The museum announced in a news release that Usher will receive the Philanthropy Freedom Award for the work done through his New Look Foundation.
“The foundation certifies young people in four leadership categories — talent, education, career and service. The foundation has raised financial resources for Hurricane Katrina victims and issued a "call to action" for Haiti relief in 2010,” according to USA Today.
Other Freedom Award winners this year include former NBA player Bill Russell and actress Cicely Tyson.
