Man Stabs Girlfriend and Accidentally Freed by Police

Let's hope this doesn't happen all the time.

Police in Miami accidentally let Dexter Davis go free after he was convicted of stabbing his ex-girlfriend with a butcher knife.  The only reason that cops noticed the error, which might have never been picked up by their system, is because the detective who investigated him happened to be driving past the jail one day and saw Davis walking down the street.

The detective then followed his instincts and called the Miami-Dade State Attorney's office to find out what happened.  That's when they realized that Davis had been accidentally released.  The 36-year old Davis is still a fugitive as of now, but the police have launched a massive manhunt.

This is not the first time that the Miami-Dade Corrections system has been embarrassed this year.  In August, a federal investigation found that they were the home to unsanitary conditions, harsh treatment from corrections officers, and poor medical care for inmates.

To add insult to injury, they had a convicted rapist escape in December 2005 by climbing down the building with bed sheets tied together.

u think he would have been "accidently" released if his victim had been white, heck, would he still be alive?
