A mentally-ill man in Tulsa, Oklahoma remains at the top of a TV tower after staying on top of the structure for six straight days.  He’s had no food and water since he made the climb on Friday and authorities are concerned about the 100 degree heat.

The 25-year old man has turned down offers for food and water and is 100 feet in the air.  The fire department came close to getting the man to come down, but he refused.

Onlookers have come to the site out of concern for the man, and mental health experts urge compassion.  Authorities say that they can’t put anything under him to catch him if he falls since the structure is too large for that.

There are no plans to force the man down from the structure, according to Tulsa officer, Leland Ashley.

"We've had people ask that question and there really isn't a way to put up any type of netting in case he falls," Ashley said. "It truly is a waiting game."

The man ran to climb the tower after being caught in an unauthorized area.
