Fantasia Stops Hiding Her Belly from the Public

It appears that Fantasia has decided to stop hiding her pregnancy from the world.  In a recent concert in Jacksonville, Florida, Fantasia said this to her audience:

“You are the the first person that I share this news with. And I share this with you because I can relate to you. And for a while I walked around figuring out what will they say and what will they think about me. But now I tell you I don’t live my life for folk.

This child that I carry…God has given me this child. And I don’t have to hide it from none of y’all.”

Our question to Fantasia:  How did you go from performing at the Grammy Awards and selling out major venues to showing up for the grand opening of an apartment complex?  Maybe she needs another hit or two to get ready to pay for that baby, not to mention all the relatives who are waiting for her to pay their rent.

I adore Tashia. I just think that she has such an emotional spirit that she gives in too easily when it comes to affairs of the heart..Her family takes advantage of her and men. She allows it because she fears that they won't love her if she doesn't do things to please them. It is a shame that her family compromises her emotions by playing on her finances. I wish she was strong enough to just say no. Look at Oprah, she maintains financial freedom because she doesn't allow friends or family to take from her what she doesn't have or want to give away. Tashia doesn't have that strong sense of self to put her foot down. Unfortunately for her she won't ever have much because of that and her family don't appear to have her back. This married man I hope is in love with her and not just using her for whatever. She seems to put him in front and we don't know if he is still with his wife, but I hope he does right by her. She did try to kill herself over his situation. I will pray for her. Heads up Fantasia. You have a big fan base. You won American Idol. Show your fans you got what it takes.

Note: If Fantasia only performed at upscale venues and sold only expensive tickets to such events, people will say that she's not being fair to her fan base of working-class/lower-class/poor people, or say that she forgot where she comes from. I'm actually glad that she chose to perform in an area where Black youth especially was able to witness how much a celebrity cared enough to perform for and speak directly to them. This is why it's easier for children in my hood to respect artists who are more of the likes of Fantasia than Beyonce. #justbeingreal

Fantasia is really sick in the head. Why would she allow herself to get pregnant when she just had an abortion a year ago? I know she was seeking therapy but it didn't work. This girl is looking for the love that her money grubbing family can't give her.

Sweetie you don't find love with a man inside of you. You have to find it inside of yourself. She doesn't demostrate any sense of self worth.. Now she is the Queen of "Baby mommas" and apart of the super growing statistics of black single mothers.

It is her child and her business. The child clearly won't be a financial burden on the government, so how is that any of our concern? While there are far too many unwed mothers in the Black community that are poor and financially dependant upon the government, there are many of us that are not. I am an educated Black single mother with a child that is afforded as just many opportunies as a child in a 2 parent household. I havebeen blessed with a healthy and happy child along with a great support system. My little boy has a good relationship with his daddy and is loved by his family. Isn't that what matters?
