Your Black World reports

Lisa Halliday, after 12 years as Oprah’s publicist, recently quit to move to L.A. Rumors floated that she quit because of a fallout over working with Rosie O’Donnell on the OWN Network in Chicago. Not so, says Halliday, it’s “just crazy talk.” She also states that she and O’Donnell are long-time friends, a friendship that she maintains is still intact.

The gossip floated around the alleged fact that Oprah supposedly “ordered” Halliday to stay in Chicago and work with O’Donnell, but Halliday denies it though there is no official word yet on exactly why she did quit. All she has said so far is that Oprah is supportive of her move to L.A.

There is no word yet on whether or not O’Donnell will corroborate Halliday’s version of the facts behind this rumor.

Since founding her new network, Oprah has not seen the ratings success she expected.  The OWN Network has gone through a series of managerial changes, but continues to lag behind the high expectations of those who thought Winfrey could be the one to lift the network off the ground.
